This model isn’t just a very nice MFD chart plotter but is also an excellent tool for finding fish and for viewing the nature of the seabed. This is an important and valuable asset, for example, when setting an anchor, as the sonar display will reveal details of the bottom, its hardness (for anchor security) and the material of the bottom e.g. mud or rocks. Our sonar ‘F ‘models come with a 600-Watt transom mount transducer with fitting kit as standard but this can be changed to a plastic or bronze thru-hull version for a small extra cost. Thru-hull versions, although intended to be exactly that and mounted through the hull, will work well if mounted inside the hull of a GRP boat which saves that quite extreme and risky process of drilling a hole in your precious hull. We have lots of experience of in-hull mounting so you can call or message us if this method of fitting seems right for you. Note that bronze transducers are very nice but don’t consider them in a metal hull as unless insulated, severe galvanic corrosion is likely from the interaction of dissimilar metals in the presence of sea water.
