Description
KS-200A+
This is a stand-alone AIS Class B+ 5 Watts power, transponder/ transceiver using SOTDMA technology, the same technology used for Class A commercial vessels. SOTDMA gives you faster access to AIS time slots and the more powerful transmission power of Class B+ will get your transmission that little bit further out.
- Send AIS and GPS data to other devices e.g. a chart
plotter, by Wi-Fi, NMEA0183 or NMEA2000 data to overlay AIS targets onto your chart.
- KS-200A+ is designed for use with Garmin (Navionics) Boating App (or a similar application) for overlaying AIS targets onto the Navionics’ chart via wi-fi.
AIS configuration:
This can be a user function using wi-fi or by a serial
connection and a PC (which is our preferred method). However, we can send the 200A+ out with AIS fully
configured with your vessel details so that it is ready to go using a chart
plotter or similar device There is a small charge for this service. For wi-fi
use with a phone or tablet for Navionics does require pairing you phone or table
to the 200A+ wi-fi. If you haven’t done this before then it is no more
difficult than connecting anything by wi-fi and we will send a step-by-step
procedure including images with the product. Friendly help is always just a
phone call away if you do need a hand with anything.
KS-200A Plus Features:
- NMEA2000.
NMEA0183. Wi-Fi
- Wi-fi transmit
and receive: use for setting up and sending to wi-fi enabled devices
- GPS indicator
that pulses orange when GPS is inadequate and solid green with a good GPS
- on start-up it pulses orange as the satellites are located then
goes solid green when good GPS is established. This is so very valuable as
a dud GPS signal will result in Vessel Tracker sites and other vessels not
knowing where you are and therefore not showing your vessel.
- Transmit and Receive indicators - Transmit indicator - transmitter flash repetition rate depends upon speed. Stopped 3 minutes, more than 3 kts 20 seconds, more than 23 kts 2 seconds. Receive indicator flash will depend upon other vessels within range transmission
- Current drain at
12 volts is 130 m/a (average transmit and receive when vessel is
stopped). Note that on transmission there as a very brief increase
in current consumption, this is so short it is difficult to measure. As
the frequency of transmits occur more often with speed the average current
drain will reflect the increases transmission pulses. Onwa consumption
figure is 200m/a - which will be an average allowing for speed of transmissions
- Compliance:
IEC62287, IEC60945, ITU-RM.1371-4, IEC61162, IEC61108, IEC61993-2
